To call this leather is quite a stretch, although there may be some hint of leather dust in the material, it looks and smells 100% synthetic. In fact, the smell is the worst part. It has a distinct chemically smell that my watches (with leather straps) actually have absorbed. I imagine it will eventually dissipate, but it hasn't after one day. The latch is also somewhat difficult to undo. After a couple of tries where I had to pick up the entire box to get it unlatched, I finally just left it unlatched for easier access.On the bright side, it looks like the picture and does what you need it to do. Hold watches.
