Boye used to be a very good quality hook and I had almost a complete set. These large sizes were missing. I found the stitching on them to be rough, while on my older (smaller) hooks they're almost seamless and smooth. However, the hook isn't coarse enough to cling to the threads, so it passes in that regard. I think there might be some Boye hooks that don't work as well: and will be too gross; catches and breaks the yarn. I don't know if there are better quality hooks (aluminum). I noticed that there are ergonomic hooks, but they seem strange to me and I will not try to adapt after so many years. I just need a high quality aluminum hook. they last forever! I have a Boye hook with the price and size of the hook stamped on it. $0.49! So the price has gone up over the years! Unfortunately the quality has gone down.
