Great antenna that is easy to assemble and install in your attic

I' I get ready, "cut the cable" and dispose of the cable/satellite. In addition to various streaming services, I also wanted to connect HD digital channels over-the-air. For the record, I live in the middle of a decently sized (and sprawling) urban area. The transmitting antennas for the networks I monitor are about 8-10 miles away from me, usually clustered in one location (so I only have to aim in one direction). I tested this antenna in my house before installing it in the attic. I was able to reliably receive signals, albeit of medium strength. Reception was still good with no pixelation. I then installed the antenna in the attic and connected it to the HDHomerun Streaming Box. My signal tester showed me that I was getting 86-100% signal strength on all the networks I pulled. Seems to be working like a champ. Assembly was easy, although the pictures in the small instructions leave a lot to be desired. Although the written instructions were good. Assembling the antenna itself (after you lay out all the parts) takes about 20-30 minutes. Once you find the best place to install it, the installation takes another 30 minutes or so (at least in the attic). The mounting bracket screws into the wood, the J-shaped array bolts to the mounting bracket. The antenna has a large U-bolt attached to a J-shaped mast. This setup allows you to tilt the antenna in almost any direction after installation. A standard RG-59 or RG-6 cable (the same type of cable that connects to cable TV) plugs into the antenna. You then connect one end of the cable to your antenna and the other end to your TV or streaming device and you're done. Photos of my installation setup are attached.

Pros
  • IDEAL FOR RURAL AND SUBURBAN AREAS - Weatherproof antenna can be installed outdoors or in the attic and will receive 1080p and 4K signals up to 70 miles from a bad transmit signal
Cons
