Good enough for me

This is another entry in the Led Lighting Pocket Video Contest. To be honest I couldn't decide if it was better or worse than some other brands for my purposes. The lamp can emit three types of light: white light, which can be set to any temperature from 2500K to 8500K; colored light that illuminates all colors of the spectrum; and special lighting effects ranging from police car lights to fire. Everything can be selected up to a certain brightness. On the back is a menu screen for managing settings. There are no remote controls, cell phones or anything else. The device comes with diffuser and honeycomb structure for softer or more directional light. Made of some kind of rubbery material, they are placed on top of the light source and don't slip off. I didn't use the color and effects functions unless they worked. (Some people prefer to use this color feature to illuminate the background.) Using white light, I easily got an indoor still portrait at f/8, ISO 1600, and a shutter speed of 1/100 second with a subject eight feet Distance taken by me. bright. As a video light, I mounted it on a light stand using one of the 1/4 20 threaded sockets, so it can be used both horizontally and vertically. It was not possible to compare the performance of this light with the specifications as manufacturers state LUX as very different. The device can also be used as a power storage device that you can use to charge your phone. The device is controlled via an on/off switch, a mode switch and two rotary controls for adjusting the light. The device comes with a built-in magnet. When you attach a lantern, say a fridge, it stays in place but slides down the rungs, which are narrower than the lantern. The light comes with a small ball head that is designed or may be misdesigned for mounting on a hot shoe or cold shoe. There are locking wheels for attaching the mount to the camera and light. Tightening the ball head knob does not stop the ball head from rotating. There appears to be a set screw on the side of the ball head, but no wrench is included to tighten it and everything I had was either too big or too small. I ended up using another small ball head. At 100% power, the light stays on for just over an hour. A full charge took about an hour and a half. The light got quite warm after about 20 minutes of full power use, but not too hot to the touch. It comes with a fabric carrying case. It will fit a lantern with one of the filters installed, but not the second filter. The instructions for the lamp were terrible. They were printed so light gray that I could barely see them even with a magnifying glass. Accessories weren't mentioned, although it was easy enough to sort through. I tried to find instructions on the SmallRig website but couldn't. Overall, this fixture was quite adequate for my lighting needs for both indoor and outdoor lighting.
