Enhance Your Lighting Setup With Kamerar D-Fuse Combo: Large LED Softbox & Grid, 12"X12 Review

I was excited the moment I took these out of the plastic and felt the quality. I’m super impressed with the thought that went into the functionality of making this a sturdy but collapsible light diffuser. Seriously, the rods on each corner that break in 2 to allow the breakdown is phenomenal. These things fold up and can literally fit in any camera bag I have with ease.

For the price I expected something flimsy that seemed like a cool idea but didn't deliver. Boy was I wrong.I typically use large 24x24" Chimera Softbox attached to a 600W or 1k Arri Fresnel ($500 dollar light and $400 softbox) to achieve a look incredibly similar to what I've just seen out of this $50 softbox and any $100 or less LED light. I'm using the GVM 580 and I must say how impressed I am with the soft light this box produces. The egg crate is very effective at narrowing the focus of the

.though once the honeycomb attachment was on, it did the job, actually getting the honeycomb attachment ON the softbox was extremely difficult. There was no velcro, zipper or snap attachment and the honeycomb had to be (what seemed to be easy at first) fitted over the precarious edge of the softbox. It takes precious time that could be spent on other parts of production. I may have to jury-rig some sort of velcro concoction just for easy on/off ability.

I'm returning the one I bought for two major reasons, it does not really/easily fit the 528's,the box is too deep so the light gets lost and is diminished by about two stops., ok, three major reasons. the diffusion material is weak in that what light does, eventually escape, is hardly diffused. Frankly you are better off buying a sheet of translucent material, sticky velcro, and making your own diffuser. I cut up the inner layer of an old, broken photo umbrella and made workable diffusion…

I bought the large circular diffuser. The diffusion sheet is INCREDIBLY thin. Like way too thin for a diffusion sheet. This could be remedied by adding an additional layer of diffusion on to it but that is something that you would have to rig yourself.Secondly, the diffusion sheet ends up being Very close to your light. The farther away the diffusion is from a light, the more soft it is. In this case you have a very thin sheet that is very close to the light source. I would not recommend this…

Simple, flexible and Versatile softbox. Fits a variety of LED panels. The snap on grid is also thoughtful. Collapses light mini flexfill reflectors. I'm curious how long the stitching that holds the magnetic struts will last, but with responsible use, no issues so far. Happy with my purchase. Recommend.

Works as advertised. Softbox softens the light well of my Yongnuo YN900 LED panel and the grid is AMAZING for controlling the spill of light. I will be ordering another one of these soon.

I do mostly commercials and this is a must. Led light are horrible, but with this and the eggcrate work really great. For top light, boom light with this device the Neewer becomes usable

These are great! I was worried about the quality compared to price, but I feelLike the quality outshines the price. I used this for a traveling interview shoot and it is small and compact when folded. Perfect for run and gun lighting!Only CON is I wish the magnets had a sleeve like the round D-Fuse comes with.

These soft boxes are easy to set up and breakdown. They fit the Neewer 530 lights perfectly. Nicely softens the light and maintains brightness. Very small when folded. Fits perfectly in the bag.

Very portable, but it's a pain to attach to the Aputure Amaran. It also doesn't easily hold shape. The foldable frame kept curving in on me. Had to return. Decided to go with Aputure's EZ BOX + II Softbox instead. More expensive, but worth the extra money (and something you can easily keep attached to the LED in storage).

Well worth the money, adds a softness and shape most LED panels cannot acheive on their own. Portable, easy to set up - what's not to like?

The overall impact of this product is great - it does what it is supposed to do by softly diffusing the light! The only change I would've like to see is the inclusion of a piece of velcro to adhere to my light fixture. The "straps" included don;t do the best job of holding the box firmly to the light. Maybe with a much bigger light it would be better, but with my MyLo setup it more dangles off the fixture. It still works in this way, but I would prefer a tighter/more secure…

It fits kind of weirdly with Velcro straps. The material started coming apart at the seams after one gentle use. It works ok I guess. I wouldn’t buy it again though.

These things work great! if you have any kind of LED panel light, these can fit on just about any of them. They don't need any frames or adapters for specific lights. They cut down about a stop or two of light for reference. But they work great to diffuse the light, minimize the little micro shadows inherent to an LED panel light, and work to make it just a little bigger source for softer light. And the optional eggcrate/grid works great to bring the angle of light output down to 20°-30° or so,

I bought this for my K4000 Led panels. The fit is a little loose and I have tried to use the included straps to tighten it but depending on the angle it does have a little issue. The grid definitely helps to control spread but I was not happy with the amount of light that was cut. I really wish you could take the diffusion cloth off and just use the the grid but the diffusion cloth is sewn into the product. Overall I am very happy with the product and helps me to use one of my diffusion panels…

I can’t comment on durability but all other aspects seem to be a home run. My flat panel light was a little smaller than the opening and I was still able to get a great fit and function with the included Velcro bungee bands.

Stitching stopped about 3 inches from the edge leaving the velcro flap hanging poor craftsmanship great idea That's my review!

They don’t fit my lights perfectly but I knew they wouldn’t. They do however soften the light nicely and do what they are supposed to do. The grid are also a nice option for controlling the angle of light.
