Have you noticed that computers no longer come with optical drives? I think that's proof that we've switched to other (perhaps more advanced) technologies. However, the question remains what should we do with all the data stored on CDs and DVDs. I have a couple of CDs that I was dying to access again, especially the one that had copies of all my uncle's WWII documents that I had scanned. I began to worry that I would never be able to access those files again. This external optical drive is the perfect solution. It's absurdly easy to use (at least on my Windows laptop). I just had to connect the USB cable and it was ready to use. I was able to quickly and easily copy any scanned document from a DVD to a flash drive in just minutes to share with other family members. The drive is light enough and has built-in storage for the USB cable (and the included USB-C adapter) so you don't have to worry about finding a cable when you want to use it. Ideal if you have old data discs you want to access or if you have old audio CDs you want to rip music to listen to on your phone or computer.
