The vinyl covers that come with the grill are not sufficient. Water sits on top, manages to seep through. Sits for lengths of time. Rusts the grill top. Pain in the ___ to have to keep getting rid of the rust. This cover is a game changer. I love the look and it’s been on for several weeks now - by itself, no vinyl cover on top - and the cooktop has remained dry and rust free.Do yourself a favor and buy one of these if you don’t already have one. And if you are looking to buy a flat cooktop, just take the plunge and buy this along with it!
