I have a card reader now but I find it takes forever to download pictures and videos from it. I knew I would have to upgrade at some point. I saw this card reader in an F-Stoppers Youtube video and was immediately intrigued, but $79 was a lot for a card reader. I didn't realize I needed this until I started uploading pictures from a gig I was filming and it literally took forever to upload. I knew I had to do something. I spent $80 and bought them. As soon as they arrived I noticed on the website that there was a $16 discount. It annoyed me but I called Amazon and they helped me with it. Connecting to your desktop was easy and hassle-free, but I found that nothing transfers. I disconnected and reconnected the Thunderbolt Type-C cable, same thing. So I decided to use a 3.1 to USB Type-C cable. Then it worked. I've seen speeds in excess of 225MB/s while I've been lucky enough to hit 80MB/s before. So I reconnected Thunderbolt USB-C and it worked. I have no idea what it was. Then I realized that I should study the maps I use. uhh. Those numbers on the front label of these cards mean SOMETHING! lol I found that I have two UHS-II cards and the rest are UHS-I cards. UHS-II cards are obviously faster but more expensive, and my camera only has one UHS-II slot. I've been lucky. At least now I'll take care of myself in the future. Pros Card reader can be fast under the right circumstances Good build quality It actually reads UHS-I and UHS-II cards Has a magnet to securely attach it to a metal case Two slots Cons Expensive UHS-I cards will not read quickly (I had to learn from experience) Wasn't that easy to set up and run, had to use multiple cables and configurations. I used Thunderbolt 3 Type C cables and my speed is still ok.
