Waste disposal in my city is in clear bags, not in containers. Bought a couple of cheap ones here which would have ripped on the tiny corner of the box as soon as encountered it even if it had been in a double bag. Do not use damp cardboard when processing. So you lose track when you have to unpack your bags in the rain and there are holes in them. Those hefty bags are way better. One pocket seems to have the strength of about 4 or 6 other pockets. So less waste. I'm willing to pay more for bags that don't always break. I also exchanged my regular bags for Hefty. I'm bloody poor but I believe it's actually about the same price as using other bags when buying hefty bags. Yes, you spend more up front, but you don't have to double or triple your bag with Hefty bags. So overall, you're spending about the same amount, avoiding messy cleanup, and being less wasteful.
