Handy Wind Meter that is Easy to Use

I’m impressed with this anemometer, as it is easy and straightforward to use, and you can easily switch between different units of measure. At first, I had trouble getting the battery compartment open, until I realized the meter is actually housed in a red over-molded rubberized cover. Once you remove the meter from the cover, you can access the battery compartment.I’ll be using this for several applications; out kayaking to know when it is safe, on the range to compensate for long range shots, and to determine if conditions are good enough to fly a drone.Pros:- It is very compact, and pocket sized, and weighs only 3-ounces. Its dimensions are approximately 4.9-inches long, 1.9-inches wide, and 0.75-inches thick.- Takes both Air Velocity readings as well as Temperature measurements.- Takes air velocity readings in five different units of measure: Meters-per-second (M/S), Kilometers per hour (Km/h), knots, feet-per-minute (ft/min), and mph.- Has a backlight display that is activated by any button, which stays illuminated for only 10-seconds to conserve battery power.- Has an automatic shutdown after 14-minutes of inactivity to conserve battery power.- Has a low battery indicator to let you know it is time to replace the battery.- Will also take average and max readings.- Has a shockproof cover and the unit is IP67 water resistant.Cons:- Uses a CR2032 battery instead of a more common one such as an AAA battery.- You need a tool or a coin to open and close the battery compartment.- Can only record wind speeds up to 65 mph.- It’s only water resistant and not waterproof.Despite the minor gripes, at a price of under twenty bucks, I think this is an excellent wind meter that is feature rich. If you’re looking to get a decent anemometer without breaking the bank, this unit will provide you with a lot of value.
