Okay. I told this thing that I'll write a positive review if it gets me out of the mess I'm in. And a deal is a deal. I've been working on my car; Replace intake manifold gaskets. The engine intakes were carefully covered with a towel to keep anything from falling in, and I was just beginning the build when I noticed the mating surfaces were a bit rough. I removed the towel from one of the inlets and splashed some solvent on the rag. As I lifted my finger from the atomizer, it slowly rose above the can, gave a few gentle twists in the air, and then fell straight into the *only* uncovered hole. Nothing but scams. I couldn't have gotten a better shot with a funnel. But it was. Luckily, it wasn't an eraser-sized sprayer, more like a shaving cream can. The problem was that I could see it (kinda with the right light and upside down) but I just couldn't reach it. I tried it with my finger and I'm sure we all know how helpful it was. I tried one of the small flexible grippers and it just kept pushing it. I even tried using a vacuum to get it out of there and I swear someone held it from the other side. I mean I had enough suction to pump oil out of the crankcase but this thing wouldn't budge. So, as I pondered during my humble, peaceful, Zen-style meditation whether I should reflect on the meaning of life or simply throw out a verbal outburst that would keep the neighborhood kids in therapy for years, I reminded myself that I a fiber optic cable used scope with scope. Hook at the end of it many, many moons ago. And where do you find something like that nowadays? revenge Looking through various options, I settled on this little guy as the best combination of price, functionality, and features. It arrived on time and in a box that was significantly smaller than I expected. Setup was relatively painless and the app is pretty easy to use. I first tested the camera on my Android phone, but soon realized I needed something bigger and easier to see without holding for my use case. I installed the app on an old Android Kit-Kat tablet that worked just as well as my current phone. The moment of truth has come. I screwed the hook onto the front of the camera (for those who might not notice, there is a decorative ring on the front of the camera that needs to be removed to use any of the additional tools included in the kit). I've also noticed that some people are reporting camera connection issues. I, like some others, have found that the connection remains stable when you turn off cellular data. My guess is that the WiFi transmitter just isn't designed for the neighbors down the street to tune in and stream live shows. So if it's drifting a bit and your phone is set to automatically switch between WiFi and cellular for the best reception, you could get turned off. If you see a connection problem, try disabling cell communication and see if it goes away. In any case, I have to admit that it took me about ten minutes to figure out how to align this round camera in a 3D environment with a square hole. My first thrust threw the goblin about half an inch to the ground. It may not seem like much, but when you were already panicking it seemed like he fell off a cliff. So after a few minutes of unusual practice, I was ready to try again. While I wouldn't call it easy, I found that as I used it and varied the light levels to minimize reflections from the polished metal parts, I found that I became more aware of how to position the camera for the best shot. And after about two minutes of twisting, lifting and flipping around the corner, I saw the lid move as I started filming the camera. Very carefully, very slowly, and praying to almost every deity I could think of (actually, I think I still have to sacrifice a cactus on a full moon while wearing orange parachute pants for one of these guys), I cleaned the body and cap in the Hand! After a few moments of jubilant dancing and high-fives to everyone around me (I have a very confused squirrel at home now, by the way), I dropped it and the can flew as far and as hard as I could into the back of the house. About halfway down his arc, I actually expected him to take a detour into one of the windows. But he apparently decided he'd done enough damage in one lifetime and just bounced back into the thicket. As for this little camera, it did what I needed at a good price point, with a moderate learning curve and lots of extra cord if I needed to find something further. For example, I am very satisfied with both the product and the result for which it was bought. It saved me more than its cost, just to the annoyance, not to mention the extra parts that would be required if I had to remove the top of the motor. I give him a good job.

Pros
  • WiFi connection, easy to use: download and install the compatible app on your device. No additional adapter or cable required, just connect to your smartphone via Wi-Fi. Then launch the app to start the inspection.
Cons
