Received a sous vide stick for Christmas and a gift card for choosing accessories. I chose this one because it is insulated, large, with a lid and a post. Since then I've been using it 2-4 days a week and it works fine. However, I have small complaints. The lid arrived flat, since it has been used it has warped around the edges allowing steam to escape or now the open edge is dripping condensation all over the counter. Haven't used sous vide above 140F before, so I'm surprised the lid warped. The insulated part retains heat well and protects your hands and worktop from ambient heat and hot water. Likewise, it had to be fitted with a silicone rim for sealing, particularly around the rod hole. The most common problem with sous vide windcatchers is condensation or water vapor on the electronics of the windcatcher. I wrapped a kitchen towel around the tube above the lid and it got wet. My only suggestion for the manufacturer is to add a drain, faucet or plug to a narrow end of the tub. When the water is full it is very difficult to move without feeling like the tub will break under the weight. The drain would allow me to pour the water into a more convenient pitcher or over the rim of the sink rather than trying to drain the water.
