Some may not need power but I put this under the gimbal to attach it to the galaxy stabilizer. There is a 16mm post on the Galaxy mount that fits this adapter perfectly. To be clear, the 1/4-20 hole on the Zhiyum Crane 3 Lab's hanger is not very deep. The 1/4-20 tripod can support a lot of weight because the plate has wide contact with the camera and therefore the tripod cannot tip sideways. To make this adapter work, I inserted 1/4-20 washers and a flat washer to create a wider contact area with the hanger and to protect the 1/4-20 adapter post from bending - being careful not to bare post is visible. I have previously tried an aluminum Kupos adapter of the same design and the aluminum post was bent to one side. To be honest I didn't have 1/4-20 discs so if I did I might be fine. Anyway, steel is better for me. This adapter works fine. Putting my heavy gimbal, camera, monitor, focus tracking and batteries together which are quite heavy on the Galaxy gimbal works great. It's easy on my hands so I can shoot for hours.
