My washing machine may be too old for this product, but it did nothing to reduce the smell in my washing machine. Smells great during the cycle but once it's over the smell is back. I think it would be perfect for general maintenance! Once I figure out the problem with my machine I will definitely try again for regular maintenance. Currently my washing machine smells like very bad Bo or slightly burnt raw material after smelling musty and more musty then I tried cleaning and cleaning and now it is the smell of dead things.
