I had bought this because we were in the middle of treating our shepherd with a severe yeast infection between his paws. Since he kept basically mutilating himself, we bought this so we could sleep at night and be able to leave him at home without worrying that he was making the situation worse. Downside? He wound up figuring out how to lick even through the leather. So I suppose if you were using this for aggression, then yes it works, but our sweet shepherd didn't need that, and he kind of defeated the purpose behind why we purchased this. Otherwise, this is a beautiful muzzle, much better made (not exactly well made) for what we thought it'd be based on the price.
