I am an inexperienced glass cutter, but I followed the directions and attempted to cut a scrap of a pretty thick mirror I had lying around. And it worked surprisingly well! It does state that you should practice several times before doing your actual cut and I agree with that. It takes some getting used to to know how much pressure you need to put down. Also I'm not very good at getting good pressure on the start and end of my cut so that's something I need to work on as well. However, I was still pleased with how my first cuts turned out despite what I know I need to improve on.The one thing to note is that this doesn't come with cutting oil (you pour it into the hole in the bottom of the handle and it lubricates your blade and should help it last longer), so make sure you already have some or order some with it. Overall this did what I expected it to do. It's relatively easy to use, just takes some practice, and I would recommend it!
