Review on Gigabyte GV-N1030D4-2GL GeForce GT 1030 Graphics Card - Low Profile D4 2G by Richard Mangum

Do not buy. Nvidia needs to rename this to gt 1010.

So I knew it was a less powerful card with different memory, but I figured it would be just a little less powerful with the same name if used seriously. general. Wow, this card doesn't even come close to a real GT 1030 and in my opinion they definitely shouldn't be selling this card for the same or even close price. At the time of writing this card costs over $20 MORE than a REAL GT 1030. I tested this on Skyrim Special Edition, where the original 1030 could be played at max settings between 55-70 fps, this card only sometimes close to 20 frames per second! I've tested Rocket League where a real 1030 can play well on "Quality Settings", typically over 60fps. This card never made it to 30. I tested World of Warcraft on settings '5' which again results in the GT 1030 easily handling 50-80 fps, even in Legion, and even noticed the difference. In certain flight routes where a real 1030 can reach 76 fps, this card with exactly the same memory and processor has not reached 30. I would call it unplayable. Keep in mind that neither the packaging nor the advertising for this GPU indicate that it's that badly lame. It's a half card at best, 1/3 of a card at worst and is sold for more than the original MSRP with the same model number! Don't buy this GPU. Buy a used previous generation GPU or wait for something better at the same original price. Not only is that dishonest, but it casts doubt on Nvidia's entire pricing model and scheme.
