I bought this dash mount because I already have a pop socket. I've tried other dash mounts before and they broke so I decided to try these. So far I'm impressed. First, the shell of the section that comes to the surface is sticky, which is good because it helps the punt stay in place. Second, the two screws used to tighten various parts are good in that they tighten well and haven't loosened for 24 hours. I suspect that with other mounts the screws loosen due to the heat/cold. It's great and the grip is good. The metal ring was easy to attach to my phone. Volume 3 didn't last long, however. I have an iPhone XR and it's a heavy phone so I can see it won't last long. I used the same glue I used to attach the pop socket to the phone, fabric glue, and it's holding up great. I am happy with the magnetic suction holding my phone. Aside from the need to glue a metal ring, this mount is perfect. Ouch! And best of all, it comes with a LIFETIME GUARANTEE! It's very cool for the price. You must register the warranty as soon as you receive the item. I hope I never have to call on the guarantee but the fact that they even offer it and make sure I'm happy is great customer service. Overall I gave 4 stars because I had to glue a metal ring to my phone but I don't think an adhesive would help because every phone is so heavy these days!
