They do not need carpet tape. They stick just fine on their own, but can easily be pulled up for adjustments. We bought them due to an aging 80lb dog with hip issues and a wobbly toddler. They work perfectly for our needs. The dog hasn’t sloped once, within the past month of owning these treads. The kiddo handles the stairs with more confidence, due to the stability. 5 star product, all the way!

Recently painted our basement stairs and added these treads. They are non-slip but non adhesive on the backing. The top is carpet, with texture. Very nice for the cellar, but looks cheap for a living area. We had more treads then needed so I tried one on carpeted stairs in the living room and it both slips and doesn’t look nice. However they are perfect for other areas.

Exactly what I was looking for and exactly as they described. Easy to lay down and vacuum up nicely. Since I put them down 2 weeks ago we’ve had heavy foot traffic on the stairs. (Think 8 adults visiting for 10 days up & down the stairs). NOT once did they move out of place. Definitely a good purchase on my end.

Stair treads stick perfectly, remove without damaging hardwood, and restick in another place. We needed traction for my elderly parents and my Great Dane who slips in stairs. It was perfect for both. While the adhesive is not sticky enough it’s still a great product. Repainted the staircase and put them down it added that much more appeal to the stairs.

I recently replaced the carpet on my stairs to hardwood. I bought these covers to protect my hardwood stairs from the Labrador's big claws and also help him go up and down the stairs. I was really nervous about anything with an adhesive backing because I didn't want to ruin the wood stain. But these tread covers don't use adhesive! It's great and sticky. Easy to peel and stick. Dont move when you walk on them and the dogs and cat cant even lift them. They provide plenty of traction on wooden stairs. Excellent product.

Got these because my dog needed more traction on our wood stairs. THEY WORK GREAT! When you initially apply them, the middle of them doesn't stick well. However, the more you walk on them, the more they stick. We are 100% happy with these and my in-laws have now bought them! Was a little worried about the color, but it looks great! Easy to vacuum too!

They adhere really well and don’t move at all, but after 3 months the edges are starting to swell up and show wear. The color tone is too dark!
