These treads stick REMARKABLY well to the stairs. I was skeptical of the non-adhesive "tacky" backing but they simply do not budge from where we put them after 2 months of frequent use already. Our little dog likes to dash up the stairs at bedtime and he used to slip pretty often. These are perfect for him and he has been confidently ascending since we put them on. No slips at all!I will say that these are dust and debris magnets. Its like using a swiffer pad as carpeting. It's a good and bad thing because while they help keep the landing clean-ish, they need to be vacuumed very often.
