This is a modem, you can't go wrong with it. While everything works fine, it connects to the Asus router with no issues. I have problems from time to time when my internet goes down but I really think it's my ISP. My ISP is rated 2 stars, people are also complaining that their internet is down. Personally, I never like to use a modem/router combo since routers require maintenance (software wise) while modems are almost never needed. So if you are looking for a high-end modem, you are wasting your time and money. Modems are the most basic form of equipment when it comes to the Internet. Basically it is the gateway for your wireless router. If you want to invest in your internet, invest in a good wireless router instead.
