Personally, I'm a NoPoo/LowPoo advocate who wants the oils on my scalp to come from my sebaceous glands, not a bottle. Shampoo once a week. This is obviously biased against my review. I'm going to sound cynical, but in fact their product is a completely typical and decent shampoo/conditioner combo, despite the flowery market lingo. The aroma is mild and natural with the smell of coconut and a slightly spicy floral undertone. This shampoo is made by a small group of artisans called Unilever/Best Foods. The first ingredient after water is regular Sodium Laureth Sulfate, which strips the natural oils from your hair and scalp, leaving it to the conditioner as usual to replace and repair what that surfactant has caused. They throw in a lot of coconut — that and Oderata Kananga flower oil — another, followed by the usual array of chemicals typical of shampoos. Keep that in mind as you read her rave marketing descriptions of the earth goddess. To name an alternative product that I like, 2-Chic Repairing Shampoo tops them with natural ingredients (if you're interested). What do I know about the air conditioning? Beauty&Planet recommends using some water when working and avoiding roots... I think it's easier if you have long hair, which I don't have. Let someone with long hair give you the best opinion on effectiveness. In terms of the conditioner ingredients, more coconut, a ylang ylang flower sourced from the aforementioned Cananga Oderata tree (of course!) for the scent, and again the usual suspects like these biocides: Methacrylate-Acrylate/ Begenet-25 copolymer and methylisothiazolinone (sometimes incorrectly called methylchloroisothiazoline), which is used to slow down fungal diseases. I don't really mind these chemicals. While there are natural antimicrobial phytochemicals that can be derived from plants, the dosage of the formaldehyde splitters mentioned above is so low that I'm not concerned. Note: Check the labels on your shampoo and conditioner. The graphic designer and printer did a very good job using subtle differences in embossing and subtle colors to help you distinguish between 2 bottles in a steam shower.
