For those of you with a Verizon FIOS account for your internet, DO NOT BUY THIS BEFORE YOU READ THE FOLLOWING! This may not be due to this product, but rather due to Verizon FIOS routers not working well with others. I switched to a Hawking Range Extender after trying this Netgear to no avail and getting the same results. The only way to fix the FIOS signal extension issue is to connect another wireless router to the Verizon FIOS router, and then connect your computer's network settings and range extender to that router. After adding the Linksys router I was able to use the Hawking range extender and it worked great. There is no need to use a Linksys router, another will do. In my case, I might as well use a Hawking WiFi router. Regardless of which range extender you buy, I would imagine the same initial results and the same additional steps would be required. You can try a different range extender before buying a second router to see if it works, but unless it specifically states that it works with FIOS, I doubt it will. Unfortunately I have no real opinion on this Netgear range extender for use with a regular router as I have never used it after all. I have found the Hawking Range Extender to work as I would expect in my situation.
