There's a lot of things wrong with this thing. But the first thing you notice is when you try to loosen the clamp, the handle unscrews. Think about it. Pressure is applied to the clip, meaning you actually have to twist the knob to remove it. But the handle unscrews in the hand before the clamp disengages. Who thought it was a good idea? The nylon pin is too long, it can be shortened to a more comfortable length, but when I tightened it the first time, the whole clamp lifted off the work piece. That's when I noticed the pen.
