I'm impressed

I received this radio in the mail this morning. I hooked it up to an external VHF antenna first. I'm in a metal walled shop building so both FM and AM are almost impossible, but since I prefer radio to TV I needed a working set. Here it worked perfectly with my antenna. There really was something outside. I need the antennas high up to get some reception where I am, but I sat outside tuning in to FM stations which I hadn't collected as my GE super radio was worn out. If you're familiar with Superradio, you'll know what I mean. On the AM band, this radio contained untuned stations from Ohio and throughout Kentucky. I'm surrounded on three sides by mountains which greatly interfere with radio reception, but this little $27.99 radio reached out and pulled out those stations. A plus. I don't have a battery. It runs on 3 D cell batteries OR AC power. So plug it in or take it outside whatever you need. Most of the time I'm not thrilled with a product made in China, but this time I can honestly say that I highly recommend this radio. You can spend a lot more money but I don't think you will get much return on your investment. I sincerely hope this helps someone.

Pros
  • Loud sound and 3.5mm headphone jack; Voices from a 2W speaker are enough to fill an entire room, even if some elderly are hard of hearing; TR604 supports mono headphones (not included); allows you to enjoy great sound without disturbing others
Cons
  • Not bad but...

Good tone and volume. Good radio and uncomplicated...even a caveman could do it.
