As mentioned, it has a small plastic part that breaks. (See photos of everyone else). That being said, while this massager worked, it was pretty strong and there were very few knots it couldn't untie. This is a percussion massager. Do you want to know what it is? Clench your fist, hold the bottom about an inch from your skin, and hit yourself a few times. Although this causes some vibration, it's the feel of the impact that really unties the knots. You have to be careful with the amount of pressure, angle, and position (if it's bumping into bone, you'll wish it wasn't). But under the right circumstances, the relief is heavenly. I have used other massagers before, but this massager is 10 times better than all the others. So, disappointed in its durability or not, it's back in my shopping cart today. The value gained is worth the disappointment. So one star off for durability, but the other four stars are definitely deserved.
