Bought this as a replacement as my Pyle 2x40 was obsolete and the volume controls in them were starting to get static. My speakers now distort after about 50% volume (good). I will not upgrade my speakers, they are loud enough at 50% volume. :) It's nice that I only have to set the thing to 50% instead of 100% with my old one, which no longer produced maximum volume. At 50% it doesn't even get lukewarm. Love all the new features, inputs and outputs with a more powerful amp. The volume display is unnecessarily bright and annoying because I'm sitting right next to it. One of the nice things about the 2x40 was that I wasn't blinded by the VU lights. I will seal these LEDs with black electrical tape.
