I ordered a medium size and was worried I should have ordered a large size. I'm glad I didn't order a large one. The medium size fits well and has enough room to wear a thick hoodie comfortably. The zipper and button closure are still roomy enough to allow you to bend forward without your back or waist feeling too tight. The jacket is not very thick. It's just the outer fabric and a thin flannel on the inside with no quilting in between. The outer fabric looks like waxed canvas, but it's not. This is a good jacket for fall - 50's and a long sleeve t-shirt will do. If you're wearing this in your 40s you'll need a sweater or sweatshirt for warmth. This is a very cute and flattering jacket. I ordered the army color and it is a very dark army green.
