Let me start by saying my son lost his glasses two seconds into getting in the ocean. They just fell off his head. The same for my two daughters but we were able to find theirs. The water wasn't rough, but kids play rough. I didn't use a strap to secure them on their faces but you definitely need to. Especially if you plan to use these for sports. They're not secured enough to their heads to handle any movement. Saying that, with straps (which I purchased on Ebay for $10.00) I think these sunglasses will be great for the Florida sun & beach!
