It is stainless steel

I like that it is not made with aluminum, no discoloration or leaving a greyish black film on your hands. Easy to handle, and clean.This is the second one I bought, my family used the first one as a hammer, which caused divots in the head. This was not good for food safety.

Pros

Easy to use and clean, makes your favorite cut of meat ten times better!

Cons

The meat may become too thin and lose its texture after being tenderized
