I like the overall look of this heater and it works well as a space heater but lacks some of the key features found in all portable heaters. should have. Basically it doesn't have a thermostat and will continue pumping out 1500W (max) of heat if you leave it on, no matter how warm your room is. That's fine in a garage where you want all the heat you can get, but the problem is that it just isn't hot enough to have an effect when the temperature is below 40 degrees Fahrenheit. Perhaps this could work in a very small open shed, but not in a two car garage unless you are directly in front of it when it works. There are 2 heat settings on this unit and I have to use the highest setting or it doesn't do much. The fan runs louder than a regular Vornado heater, but not too loud or anything like that. The sound doesn't bother me at all. The plastic and metal used is of a slightly better quality than most home fans as it appears to be designed for workshop use where it can be kicked a little more than usual. There is a small tilt lever, but it offers very little room for adjustment and is more for looks than actual functionality. It is good as an internal heater. Maybe not the best heater but it works well. I wish it had a temperature cut off that I could control, I'm not comfortable falling asleep with it on all night. It works well to heat a cold room and I use it to turn down my central heating when I'm home alone. It just isn't powerful enough for shop use and I would give it 2 stars if that is your intent for this heater. I'm giving it 3 stars overall because it really works and is a little hotter than other 1500w heaters I've used, but it has so many flaws that at this price point it's hard to recommend.
