Review on Permatex 25247 Fabric Repair Kit by Rob Kerr

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Any color, easy to use.

I want to agree with one of the reviewers who said it dries a lot. It does. This is a white glue that becomes transparent after drying and is actually difficult to dry. I've never seen a glue that doesn't dry, so imagine it being like any other glue you're used to. I got it right after two tries. I also agree with the reviewer who says the color is hard to find. There is a color key that tells you what to mix to get which color. This is very useful, but it's still likely to be a little off. I would suggest blending the fibers first and then, before gluing them together, loosely lay some fibers over the part to be repaired to make sure they fit together. You can always add more other colors if the game doesn't fit before the gluing step. You get many different colors, almost every color can be made. Then, as you apply the glue to the hole, make sure to press the glue down so it's all the way into the hole. Also note if the hole is slanted. The glue can thicken towards the bottom of the hole due to gravity. After gluing, when you put the fibers in the hole, press them against the glue, and then add more fibers. Make sure you drop them in the hole. In general, it will not take long. I took a few hours and it took about 15 minutes from start to finish but as I said it had to be done twice because the color was a bit off the first time. Now it looks great. If you didn't know the hole was there, you won't be able to see the repair. I would recommend this product.
