I loved the candy colored color of this toaster and its overall look. However, at the highest setting, bagels will turn light brown on the outside and cold on the inside. When you bake an English cake, you end up with a lightly toasted outside and a chill on the inside. I might as well coat the outside of stale bread with Minwax and I'd have the same results. What a terrible waste of money. I will be buying another Cuisinart toaster that isn't pretty but works great.
