Review on Elecrow Raspberry 10.1" HD Portable Speakers: 1920X1080P Resolution, 60Hz, Built-In Speakers by Pierre Lenard

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Surprisingly excellent 1080p multifunction display

I need an extra secondary display on my desk that I could use for my Raspberry Pi server. I thought it would be a good fit, but there wouldn't be anything too exciting. However, this thing far exceeds my expectations. Color reproduction looks great, a little cold out of the box, but you can easily adjust the white balance/gamma by adjusting the RGB values 0-100 in the menu. I have no dead or stuck pixels, the pixels are sharp and dense. This display uses a truly native 60Hz panel at 1920 x 1080 pixels - many others on Revain listed as 1080p actually have much lower resolutions. or white in the video signal. Because of this, you can set the display very dark or very bright while maintaining contrast. It behaves just like the brightness settings on any modern smartphone! When it's on, there's a bright LED at the top that glows blue when a signal is detected and red when it's not. It's a bit too bright, but it can be easily covered with a piece of tape. The tiny rear speaker is overly powerful and lacks treble, but it's there in an emergency. However, there is a mini stereo output (typical headphone size) built into the side that outputs any audio received via HDMI, allowing you to connect headphones or desktop speakers through the monitor if you wish. There are physical volume up/down buttons on the top of the display that adjust the volume from 0 to 100. This thing really has all the conveniences of a full-size desktop monitor. The stand is rather simplistic but it does the job well, there are 2 legs plus the shelf itself which the display is held on. All are rubberized and can be infinitely adjusted and twisted at any angle. Overall I am very impressed with this model. Keep in mind that on a 10.1-inch desktop surface like Windows or Linux, it can be very difficult to read small buttons and icons unless you adjust the zoom accordingly.
