I rescued a feral kitten and kept it in a kennel while she got used to me and slowly got to know my cat. I wanted him to be happy and busy so I bought him some balls, some catnip toys and this scratching post. It was easy to set up and just the right size to fit in the corner of the kennel but big and strong enough for my kitten to jump and climb on. He loved this scratching post so much. I could never find out if it was real sisal rope or a synthetic substitute, but whatever it was, the cat liked it. I would recommend it to anyone whose cats need to spend time in the kennel.
