I like the texture of the material, the thickness of the palm rests and the grip under the mouse pad. Works very well with ergonomic wireless keyboard, 10-key pad and mouse. The mouse glides more efficiently over this material, even in the limited space my fold-down keyboard tray allows. I'm glad my doubts about previous reviews didn't stand in the way of my purchase. A slightly less faded pale pink might have been nice, but not a deal breaker. Arrived in a large envelope which prevented the keyboard palm rest from flexing so no recovery time was needed.
