If you have an old Toyota, you need one of these.

I think if you go to a Toyota dealership and ask for this part you can probably get it MUCH cheaper there. However, if you're like me and your nearest dealer is miles away due to traffic and is only open during business hours, it's worth just paying the price here and having this part delivered to your home. If, like me, you have a Toyota old enough to drink, it's only a matter of time before you notice the brake lights stay on and you see little pie-shaped chunks of white plastic on the floor. Save yourself the hassle of going through the obligatory rite of passage of owners of this vintage Toyota (known as derailleur brake pad destruction) by replacing this part early. Otherwise your brake lights will kill your battery while you're not looking. Installation is simple: 1) Pull the emergency brake. 2) Start the car. 3) Slide the driver's seat back as far as possible. 4) Reach under the dash and locate the brake switch and corresponding hole on the brake pedal lever. 5) While pressing the brake pedal forward with one hand, press the switch pad into the switch knob with the other hand; This gives you enough room to place the spacer between the switch knob and the pedal arm. 6) Align the pin with the hole in the lever and release the brake pedal. The pin should enter the lever hole with a characteristic click. 7) Depress the brake pedal again to ensure the pad stays in place. Now you want your old Toyota to last another 20 years.
