After reading a few reviews I was hesitant about the product and the need to remove the ignition switch from the dashboard. Not a difficult task, but I would rather not. Long story short, the sticky putty once slightly warmed worked perfectly. Gentle, even pressure to spread the putty over the entire surface of the "Start/Stop" button and a quick pull.out came the O.E.M. black button. Easy as 1,2,3. Then a simple placement of the new red button and done.

BMW F06 (2016+ 650i GC). Was apprehensive about using the sticky clay/substance, thinking I would break off the flimsy plastic inside. And was prepared to remove the unit and do it the hard way. But on the very 1st try, it came out smooth and easy, and the new one snapped right in. Just be sure to have the clay cover a good chunk of the old button first, wait at least 15 to 20 secs, form a good grip/handle out of the clay to hold, and pull it out crisply, nice and straight. This is a really nice subtle modification and will be standard on the 2019 M2 Competition. It looks and feels like an OEM quality part. The install was so simple, and I was truly surprised! All I did was mash one of the adhesive sticks on the OEM starter button working it in a little and gave it an hour to adhere. I just pulled quickly and it came right off. I received mine today and was so excited to install it, I tried to do it at work. First of all, the sticky thing that they include in the box is not going to work. I ended up pilling off more paint off the OEM button. Second of all, you have to make sure you order the right one. My car doesn't have the button on the side, so I'm returning it and order the right one. The reason I'm giving a 4 star instead of 5 is because I was really hoping that sticky thing would work. The quality of the paint is great. Exactly the same as the OEM as far as fit.I was able to use the sticky puddy to get the OEM button out on the first try worth no problems. Leave your key out of the car, stick the whole stick of puddy on the OEM button hard enough to push it in, then quickly jerk it toward you and it will come right out.Installing the new one simply requires lining it up and pushing in hard enough till you hear a click.

Sticky stuff goes on old button. Cover it entirely! Make a little tail/handle. Pull it fast like the tablecloth trick. And viola.take red one out of bag and push it in place of old one. Done. I was a little concerned about the quality of the plastic and paint, but I decided to buy it anyways. I was pleasantly surprised to see it was a good quality part. Light doesn’t leak through where it’s not supposed to, paint is well done and evenly applied, and the part fit well into the starter switch.There were no instructions for install but all you do is take the supplied clay, smush it on the current start stop button, pull quickly to remove, and put the new button in its place.

Nice upgrade or replacement. In my case I was replacing my old worn out button and decided to go with the red instead of the stock black. Super easy removal and install. I think the red button looks a lot better than stock black original. I’m trying to find the upper portion (Autostart ‘A’ Button) to match but having difficulties locating that button. I’d like to replace that one as well so that the whole assembly looks new. For $10 this button is absolutely worth it.

So Im only writing this review to specify ONE THING, the package comes with these adhesive things that’ll supposedly remove the existing egnition button. Which may or may not work in all cases. Quite frankly In my case it DIDNT Work whatsoever im not bashing the product im more or less elaborateing on the fact that it was pitched in a way that it’ll be an easy 1-2 punch an it’s in but nope not for me. Anywho just make sure u think it out before u purchase. Thanks

This installed in seconds. I used a utility knife to pry it up, pulled it off, put new button on in seconds. Looks cool and new. This is a cool mod because you use it all the time.

1. No instructions included.2. The adhesive was sticky, but not enough to remove the OEM button. Instead I used a small flathead.3. If you look closely in my picture, the letters are not centered like OEMOverall I’m pretty happy with it and installation didn’t take that long. The price is fair as well…Will have to see how it holds up in the future.

The sticky thingy isn't sticky enough and it took me a while to pull out the original button, but other than that, everything is great.

Perfect fit in a F22 M235. Very easy install. It took less than 60 seconds. The sticky gum method really does work vs pulling out the ignition switch! The sticky gum did not take any paint etc. off of the original BMW switch button. Buy it from this brand/seller as it comes with the sticky gum needed to pull out the old switch button. The product came with zero instructions. I just read the prior Ebay reviews and watched a couple of You Tube videos from Mark Mollat and Messay Garage.

This fit perfectly after removing the black start button on my 2011 E92 M3. It’s glossy red and light shows through the letters when driving at night. The finish feels like it won’t ever rub off. I’ve seen other start buttons being sold for twice this much. I’m happy!

A little misleading. The item information reads that there is no sticky adhesive and that was indeed the case. There was nothing in the packing besides the button, unlike what some other buyers claimed.I had to take off the front panel to install it, still not difficult. HOWEVER, the one disappointment was after I snapped the new button on, 2 of the small fastener grommets had cracked/broken. The plastic just appears too thin in those areas. Its seems sturdy enough so hopefully the other 3…

Love the extra detail this adds to starting the car and the putty that it comes with made it such a breeze to install. Very happy!

It looks great! Not that easy to install but not that it was supposed to be, so great value for the money! Limited color options.

the installation requires you to take part the start/stop button dock, will take around 5 minutes to install but is very good and adds a racer feel
