It's way better than I expected. The label on the bottom states that they have a leather upper, textile inner and manmade sole. They smell like chemicals and I have to take their word for it that they're leather; It looks like some kind of handmade material. They're really comfortable, especially with the heel and its heavy padding. The shoes fit perfectly. The only issue is the laces which are almost like dress laces and form a little loop which my son finds a bit silly. It is also very difficult to keep them clean. Overall, however, these are good shoes for the money; good value.
