I wish I could give 0 stars

I don't even know where to begin how bad this unit is. At the most basic level, I just hope we get to return this item after trying it so many times. $350 is a lot of money and all those amazing reviews make you think this thing is magic. Have any of you tried a different blender? What do you like about the blade spinning freely in a homemade pocket of air in the unmixed ingredients? What's with the plastic sword? Do you enjoy handcrafting your blending projects? I'm amazed what a plus on this thing is. My last blender cost โ‚ฌ40. I would press the button and walk away, and in a minute or two I would be back with a container full of mixture. I didn't have to sit and control my speed like I was riding a motorcycle during Boston rush hour. I didn't have to stick a plastic sword into the roof like trying to wake up a naughty zoo animal. In any case. It's terrible. As mentioned above, the whole mixing process requires a lot of manual effort. You gotta keep that thing or it'll be all over the place. The on/off control is very sensitive. Twice I had something on the counter, hit it, turned it over and ingredients were spilled everywhere. The speed control is terrible. 0-4, hardly moved. A tiny swipe after 4, you've picked up ridiculous speed. (I think 8 will make you plaid, but I never had the heart to try). It's basically $350 for an item you have to keep turning on and off, shaking and swearing all over the place. This is an expensive weight to shake. Then there is the joy of cleaning. Much luck. Put on a chain gauntlet if you want to get there. For $70 I bought a competitor's model with a turret of deadly rotating blades that allows me to press a button, walk away, and return to a container of mixed formula. Love. It has little suction cups on the tabletop so I don't even look. Well, I did it for the first time, just because I hadn't seen a mixer in so long I was mesmerized. I'm pretty sure I could liquefy a pair of flip flops with this thing. All for $70. It's $280 cheaper than this thing. Push the button. Go away. Oh, and the deathblade turret is removable so pouring out and cleaning is super easy. I suppose you could also use it to protect yourself from a kitchen intruder in a pinch. I guess what I'm trying to say is don't buy this product. This is really very bad.
