Review on πŸ”’ Secure Your Trailer with the Blaylock American Metal TL-20 Coupler Lock by Anil Campbell

Too narrow for my hitch

I looked at various hitch locks and for the price this lock gets top marks. Many other options received negative reviews due to poor design, or were easily bypassed in one way or another (either by shoving the lock over the edge of the hitch, or by brute force by bringing a sledgehammer to the lock). ), but the TL-20 appears to have the best overall safety record. However, the lock is a bit too narrow to slip through my hitch, which has a standard bullnose design and is just under 3.5 inches wide. in the widest part. If the TL-20 was just a quarter inch wider it would work great. In its current form it is unusable. I gave the castle four stars because of its construction. But unfortunately I have to return it as it is not usable on my hitch (this was the only complaint in the reviews I saw a couple of times that others had). Nowhere in the product description is the inside width (the part that slides over the hitch) of the lock listed. The only dimensions I've seen of it are completely unusable: 6.6 x 4.6 x 1.6 inches. OUTER lock width. What is needed is the internal width so customers can check their clutch width first to see if the lock will fit before purchasing. By the way, the inside width of the lock is 3 and 3/8 inches plus hair.

Pros
  • Easy installation
Cons
