I used these to hang a fruit basket around my apartment - I needed a 1/2" drill bit to make a hole that's big enough for the metal toggle switch. The hole is big and honestly scared me a little, but the washer completely closes the hole. It's been 5 days since I installed it and the fruit basket is picking up speed! I make sure that the weight of the fetus does not exceed 20 pounds - I do not want to tempt fate.
