I bought this ball for my wife's back pain. It's actually too early to know for sure how well it will work for that. She only uses it when I first write this. She says it seems to be helping so far. We'll have to see how long the benefits last. What I can say for sure is that opening the package was a living hell and downright dangerous. It usually comes in a spherical clear plastic case that is slightly larger in diameter than the ball itself. I was amazed at how you could cut through clear plastic without damaging the ball. A pair of sharp scissors to pierce the clear plastic case was the only thing I could think of to easily pry open the case. But the clear plastic wrapper had a smooth, shiny surface, and the tips of the scissors kept slipping. And to pierce the plastic, the scissors had to use a lot of force. Trying to manipulate the tip of the scissors with a lot of pressure, to keep them from slipping sideways and endangering your fingers, while also making sure the tip of the scissors doesn't damage the plastic ball, which is only 1/16 inch from the inside surface of the clear plastic was removed - well, that was more than I could tell for sure. In fact, I managed to complete the task without splattering blood on the kitchen counter and without damaging the ball. But it was quite a difficult and dangerous undertaking. And I think part of the success was just pure luck. During the exams I always felt on the brink of disaster. If I had to do that ten times, I feel like there would be multiple accidents. By the way, two halves of a clear plastic sphere body were nailed together and the seam closed with cardboard. I tried to cut through the cardboard to the seam, but when I got to the seam with scissors I had nowhere to go. Opening the package didn't really help.
