Great cap when I found out what was going on. At first I thought it was defective because, unlike the locking caps I've had in the past, I couldn't remove the key by turning it perpendicular to the mechanism's nose. Also, it didn't seem to latch on the filler neck. I went to Stant online, read the installation instructions and found that there is a special process. You have to click it THREE times when you put it on the spout. Basically it locks automatically and you don't need to use a key to lock it, just to unlock it. Once that's done, the lid spins freely, as expected. You insert the key, turn it vertically and you can remove the cap. Turn the key back parallel to the comb, remove it and you can put it back after filling. If Stunt does verify these reviews, I would recommend including the instruction in the header.
