Product is perfect when recommended. I bought a large women's size 9 to wear with snowshoes and hiking boots. However, about 2-3 miles before my first hike with them, the left lug broke where it connected to the rubber and I had to fix it with a small carabiner. another 2 miles and the right spike chain also broke at the junction with the rubber. Luckily I had a second carabiner to salvage. They are fixable but didn't last long. I wanted something more durable. I've used it on slushy snow and mud and climbed up a constant incline.
