Quality ice boots

High quality for the price and easy to put on! Due to the unusually mild weather we've had here in Wisconsin I haven't really had a chance to test them yet, but will continue to do so once the inevitable inclement weather arrives! I am happy to use them.

Pros
  • Trial period for one year
Cons
  • There are disadvantages

Well built and easy to put on.

I have an old pair of Muck Arctic snow boots and the treads are pretty worn. These boots fit perfectly and securely, are easy to slip on and should give these boots great traction this winter. They are made from higher quality materials than other spikes I have seen. So I hope to be able to use it for a few years.

Pros
  • Great for outdoor activities
Cons
  • I don't really like it, it's ok

Excellent sneakers! good for shoes, jewelry and watch accessories

These ice boots are awesome! For most of my life I've used cheap gummies that work, but don't work very well. I went for these Extremus boots and they kick the rest out of the water. The chains are wrapped tightly around my boots and the large spikes dig well into the ice. I don't think I'll ever slip on ice again. 100% recommended!

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Operating speed

Great product at a great price!

Great boots! The studs are very large, which makes for a great ride on ice. I know I don't want to fall They also match my boots well which is a big plus because I have bought many other cleats and they don't even match my boots. In addition, the boots are well positioned for more ground coverage when walking. Bought previous boots and could only walk certain trails. Overall very impressed!

  • Questionable purchase for Seniors

Pretty good so far: Shoe care products and accessories

Bought for hiking trails with a lot of movement which means bumpy slick ice and they work well. Two minor issues: (a) They come with Velcro to connect the rubber sides and attach them to the laces of the boot's upper. For a size L, the velcro isn't long enough to easily do this without stretching the rubber side panels quite a bit. (b) the cleats are under the boots and can be flipped/flipped - I'd like some cleats on the edges of the sides of the boot. I wouldn't wear them for walking in an…

Broken on first use

Product is perfect when recommended. I bought a large women's size 9 to wear with snowshoes and hiking boots. However, about 2-3 miles before my first hike with them, the left lug broke where it connected to the rubber and I had to fix it with a small carabiner. another 2 miles and the right spike chain also broke at the junction with the rubber. Luckily I had a second carabiner to salvage. They are fixable but didn't last long. I wanted something more durable. I've used it on slushy snow and…

Very effective: shoe polish and accessories

I went hiking on a local ski mountain after the season ended. There was a lot of snow left, as well as a lot of mud and torn earth. I climbed the black diamond double slope so it was very steep. This was my first time using these devices and they really worked. I couldn't have done it without her. They gave me great traction. I then ran down the beginner's trail and managed to stop them as I ran down the slope. Every once in a while I could feel the metal pressing against the soles of my hiking

Pros
  • Ideal for a small home
Cons
  • poorly thought out

worthy for the money

This rating is based on materials, construction and build quality. Haven't used them yet because we haven't had ice or snow since I got them. I sold their MSR version when I was with Eastern Mountain Sports. Compared to the ones I've sold this is a solid price for what you get. Normally MSR costs around 50-60 dollars. The main difference I see is that not all links are welded. This may cause the link to break when used. I don't know what will happen, but I'll just list the difference between…

very impressed, no complaints.

I skated a lot in the winter. So I tried a lot of things (a lot of ice boots). The best thing I've tried until last year is YakTrax. So I will compare it with yak. They are both very easy to put on and take off. The Yak is slightly more streamlined than the equally sized Extremus, but comparable. Fed yaks work especially well on thin, dark ice. Extremus with chain and "claw". Based on my previous experience with ice drifts, the claw works well too. What I like the most is that most of the…
