This can work well for water protection. but definitely not oil resistant. I'm a field engineer and I work regularly with mineral oil. I bought a new pair of fairly expensive work boots. I was looking for an oil resistant product. I bought the product and followed the instructions for use exactly. Today I put the boots on for the third time and encountered an oil stain right on the treated boots. The oil was immediately absorbed into the leather of the boot. This product is not what it promises.
