To get rid of unwanted hair, I tried all means: shaving, waxing, threads, depilatory creams, electrolysis and even laser therapy. None of them gave me the results I wanted, especially with a thick chin. The electrolysis was painful and time consuming, the laser treatment was too harsh and left my skin so hard I looked like I had mumps. And even after several expensive treatments, I still had a forest on my face. As I am a woman, coarse and thick hair is NOT welcome. I don't even want to think about the money I've spent fighting lint for years. Enter Silk'n Flash and let's get started. Best money I've ever spent because it works! Thin hair came first, then medium textured hair. Coarse wire takes longer but I see light at the end of the tunnel! Speaking of light, this lamp is no joke with high intensity. I close my eyes, shield them with my hand, and still see a bright flash, even though these precautions keep my eyes from getting hurt. The cartridge is easy to replace and I got a lot of life out of it. I've been using mine for four and a half months and just had to replace it. The volume of the treated area will of course affect the life of the lamp, but I treated the entire beard area from the creases on the neck to mid-cheeks and legs below the knees. I fly once a week - I'm sure following the suggested schedule would extend the life of the lamp even further, but I would rather make more progress on the Bearded Lady No More project in less time and buy an extra lamp or two. on the way. The price fluctuates a bit, so add them to your cart and buy when you see a drop in price. I try to always have a spare on hand so that when a bulb reaches its rated flash life, I can easily pop in a new cartridge on my schedule. Updated February 2014 twice a month on average. My problem area is the beard and mustache area, an area populated with coarse black hair due to the hormonal chaos caused by PCOS. With regular use (I'm) only on my second cartridge and see a decrease of about 90%. The remaining problem hair is a little less coarse than before and I'm seeing a clear pattern of reduced hair density. I'm hoping for complete elimination in this area within the next six months. After that I start to work on my legs. I just ordered a replacement cartridge and am happy with the product as it is much cheaper and less painful than going to the dermatologist.
