Before I start I'll just give a brief description of each photo I uploaded for context: β Photo showing light coming out with one of my 5.5- gallon cans is used. β‘ Photo of the tank from a slightly different angle, showing the spread and coverage of the light. β’ Shows what the light above the tank looks like. Here you can see how the hood mounts sit on the rimmed tank and the size of the hood compared to the 5.5 gallon width (tank length: 16.25 inches). β£ Photo shows the position of the LEDs. β€ Measured length of the LED light (β10.5 inch or 26.5γ) when mounted on the top of the tank. β₯ The measured width of the LED light (β3" or 7") when placed on top of the tank. I am constantly on the lookout for lights with specific red and blue diodes as these wavelengths are most favorable for plant growth. Having owned several different lamp models from different manufacturers, I have found that foreign color lamps (like green, orange, pink, etc.) far more algae growing than in my pure red/blue/white LED aquariums. So I was EXTREMELY excited to see Mingdak put this light out! It was affordable, could increase/decrease power and had accurate the spectrum I was looking for. recently updated but when I bought the lamp there were no specific sizes for each of the models. I needed a light specifically for my 5.5 gallons so I took a chance and bought a smaller unit. Although it was a little smaller than expected, I am still completely satisfied with the light spread and aquarium coverage. If Mingdak could provide the exact dimensions of each model of their lights in the future, it would be greatly appreciated. βΊ I waited a few weeks before writing this review to get a full usability rating of the flashlight (purchased November 11, 2019). Below is my general experience with the light:ππππ:β The light is quite intense and has wonderful PAR/Lumens for its size. I have had great success growing plants in a low tech aquarium (note: I use root and fertilizer tabs). >85 β Lumens β 700β Kelvin β 6500 Kβ Zoom in and out to simulate a sunrise/sunset cycle. I also pair the light with Mingdak's ramp timer. β The aluminum housing appears to be of significantly higher quality than the plastic housing. It also dissipates heat more efficiently. β Doesn't feel hot so it's safe to use. β Very fast delivery! I got my light in one day! β Competitive price and availability of a perfect spectrum luminaire. β The light fully illuminated the entire tank, although the light was slightly smaller than my tank. I was very impressed with the coverage. This causes the light to go out of place too quickly. This can be easily attached with tape or silicone.β The LED cover was just a thin piece of clear plastic. While it didn't make much of a difference, there was little clearance between the plastic wrap and the lamp housing. Over time, this can lead to water vapor penetrating the lamp and short-circuiting it. The edges of the entire bracket along the plastic film can be coated with silicone to seal. β Adjustable feet have lights very low on the tank. This is not a problem for me, but may be a problem for others.β The exact dimensions were not initially clearly stated. I still can't see the dimensions of the larger device. If you're a fan of red, blue and white lights like me then I highly recommend it. None of the bugs I encountered actually hurt my user experience with Light - just things the brand could work on in the future to make their products stand out from the rest. It is effective when the first image in the list (and therefore the preview thumbnail) is one of the indicators that it has red/blue/white diodes. I almost overlooked this light source, because I didn't notice the black unlit lamp at first. I would click instantly when I saw the colors of the diodes. π
