Really great power supply! I had previously purchased two other 12v to 110v power supplies and while both provided the power I needed, I was very annoyed with the noise their fans made. This device is COMPLETELY silent. I use it when I'm on board a chartered sailboat to power my laptop, charge my iPhone, etc. I've found that they all make whining fan noise with other power supplies, including one that promised that the fan would only so would work required. The fan went on and off as it did this - and it didn't increase and decrease slowly, just turned on at full speed, then stopped and then turned on again at full speed. So as I sat in relative silence trying to use my laptop, the fan noise was pretty loud. This Go Power GP 175 watt model has no fan at all and is therefore completely silent. If you need a PSU in a situation where noise isn't an issue, then any other brand with fans will probably be fine. However if like me you want something quiet in operation then this is what you need! low power to run things like portable fridges or anything with a motor. But for small things like powering laptops, chargers for phones or cameras, etc., the power is enough.
